Create Enable USB Debugging on Android authored by Devin's avatar Devin
To run the companion app on your Android device, you'll need to enable USB debugging. Different versions of Android and different devices may affect where settings are located, so depending on your device, you may need to do a quick Google search for your specific device if you can't find any of the settings laid out on this wiki page.
To enable USB debugging on your device, follow these steps:
1. Open the settings app
2. Scroll all the way down, and click "About Device"
3. Look for "Build Number"
4. Tap "Build Number" quickly, 7 times in a row. This will activate the developer settings on your phone
5. Go back to the main settings page, and click "System"
6. Click "Developer options"
7. Enable "USB debugging"
Be careful about changing development settings. Some changes can open your phone to vulnerabilities or make features unusable, so be careful if you decide to change any other settings.
